Eunice Rita Granger

SULPHUR - Eunice "Sookie" Mires Hernandez Granger, age 90, went to her Eternal Home on Thursday, July 6, 2017.

Eunice was a member of Our Lady of LaSallette Catholic Church, VFW Auxillary, and the Marine Corps Auxillary. "Sookie" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt who will be greatly missed.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her son, Dale Hernandez and wife, Jean of Sulphur; step-daughter, Patty Gail King and husband, Gene of Sulphur; daughter-in-law, Ann Fardoe of England; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ann Sonnier, son, David Hernandez, husband, John B. Hernandez, husband, Edson Granger, parents, Harry and Eunice Mires, and three sisters, Blanche Decote, Lucy Belle Hoffpauir, and Vivian Cormier.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Services will be led by Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Sookie’s caretakers at Stonebridge and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care. Also a special thanks to Cheryl Johnson and Patsy Guidry.
