She was a native of Leroy, Louisiana and had been a resident of Sulphur since the 1950's, coming from Crowley. Mrs. Tiny enjoyed babies, old people, sewing, cooking, eating, and crocheting. She made numerous blankets for residents of local nursing homes. She was an avid bowler and had won several trophies and tournaments. She was a member of Victory Worship Center. Mrs. Tiny served as Grand Marshall of the Sulphur Centennial Celebration parade in 2014 as the oldest lady in Sulphur and was also one year older than the City of Sulphur. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Burns Rentrop of Sulphur; her children, Joe Vice of Abbeville, Loretta Kusek of Live Oak, Texas, Florence Sanders of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Donald Guidry of Hosston; her step-sons, Burns Rentrop, Jr. of Bayou L'Ourse and Kurt Rentrop of Hessmer; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; thirty-two great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Azery and Elmire Frederick; and her siblings, Preston Frederick, Victor Frederick, Francis Frederick, Weston Frederick, Una Romero, and Geles Trahan.
A memorial service will be held on her 106th birthday on April 25, 2019 in Victory Worship Center in Sulphur. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
