

She was born to Mayo and Nova Harrington Foreman on May 11, 1925. Frances was a native of Indian Bayou and had been a resident of Sulphur for nearly 90 years. She was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church, the UMW (United Methodist Women), and a longtime member of the Elderberries. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Rebekah’s, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Cal-Cam Fair Association Board, and The Pelican Grill Bowling Team. Frances had worked for Firestone and Foreman Insurance Agency, and was a full-time mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; and great-great-grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Steven Clifton of Wharton, Texas, and Paul Jeffery Clifton and wife, Karen of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert “A.J.” Clifton; her daughter, Dianne Guy English; her daughter-in-law, Doris Clifton; her son-in-law, Charles English; and her brother, Charles Douglas Foreman.
A Celebration of Frances’s Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Henning Memorial United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
