Frances Sue Stark

Funeral services for Frances Sue Stark, 84, of Sulphur will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in Henning Memorial United Methodist Church of Sulphur. Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home Saturday morning from 10-12 a.m. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Quicksand Cemetery in (Bon Weir) Newton County, Texas.

Sue died Wednesday, December 7, 2011. She was born November 23, 1927, in St Landry, Louisiana. She and her husband moved to Sulphur in 1955, and raised a family. She was a 1949 graduate of Northwestern State College. She later pursued a teaching career, retiring from Sowela in 1996. Sue was a long time member of Henning Methodist in Sulphur. She taught Sunday school and served faithfully in several other ministries.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Fred T. Stark, Sr.; parents Fred and Tina Thomason; and siblings, Hyder, Fred W., and Frank Thomason, Betty Jo Byran; and youngest sister, Barbara Gray.

Sue is survived by her brother, James H. "Rusty" Thomason of Morgan City; children, Fred T. Stark, Jr. and wife Becky, Glenda Brannen, and Robert K. Stark, all of Sulphur, Larry W. Stark and wife Beth, of Maui; grandchildren, Tim Stark and wife Nancy, of Lafayette, Alison Potter and husband Mark, of Houston, Joel Stark of Sulphur, Leah Stark of Houston, Cody Stark of Maui; and one great grandchild, Olivia Potter; and a whole load of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

We will all miss her very much. It is comforting to know she is now with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
