Gerald Doucet

Gerald was born in Crowley, LA to the late Mr. & Mrs. Walter F. (Regina) Doucet Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Conoco-Venco as an operator. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and working puzzles. He was a very patient man who loved life and his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Deanna Doucet; two sons, Scottie Doucet and wife, Kristi and Donavan Doucet and wife, Marcia; one brother, Walter Lee Doucet and wife, Barbara; one (twin) sister, Geraldine Guidry and husband, James; five granddaughters, Kaytlin, Allee, Adah, Scotti Clare, and Shaylee Doucet; and one grandson, Taylor Doucet all of Sulphur. He is preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Walter F. Doucet Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am Tuesday, September 2, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Rev. D.B. Thompson will officiate. Visitation is from 3-9 Monday, September 1, with a rosary at 6:30pm, and will resume 8am until service time Tuesday, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
