She was a native of Pollock and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1973 before moving to Beaumont nine years ago. Jerri lived an abundant life with love, family, friendship, and the joy of bringing everyone together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, proudly becoming part of five generations of a family she cherished deeply.
Above all, she was a homemaker in every sense of the word. Her home was never simply a house; it was a gathering place where everyone was welcomed, families came together, and there was always room for one, two more, any more. She understood that some of life's greatest moments were the simplest: a full house, a crowded table, laughter in the next room, and the people she loved all together.
Jerri was full of life, and somehow, life always seemed a little brighter when she was around. She traveled with her best friends and enjoyed adventures to Las Vegas, Greece, and Chicago, carrying that same joy and appreciation for good company wherever she went.
Her greatest legacy will be the ones she loved and the family she brought together over the years. Five generations will carry pieces of her forward. She leaves behind a family who was fortunate enough to know her, love her, and call her Mom, Geraldine, Ms. Jerri, and Memaw through the years. Though our homes and hearts will never feel quite the same, the love she gave us will remain in the hearts and lives of those she leaves behind. She was a wife, a mother, a friend, a homemaker, and the heart of her family. Above all, she was a great woman who made life brighter simply by being in it.
Survivors include her children, Richard Marcotte and wife, Edith, and Melody Marcotte, all of Beaumont, Texas, and Julie DiGiovanni of Sulphur; her sister, Carolyn Moore of Dayton, Texas; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who are deeply saddened by her passing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Marcotte; her parents, J.Q. and Isalee Robertson; her sons, John Victor Marcotte and Kerry Jay Marcotte; her siblings, Betty Carpenter, Nancy "Sue" Harp, Larry Robertson and Vernon Robertson; as well as her love and life-companion, Harvey Miller.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South Mausoleum.
