She was a native of Crowley and had been a resident of Vinton for over 60 years. Gertrude was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vinton.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Vassar of Vinton; two sisters, Genevieve Crain of Vinton and Shirley Ann Murphy of Silt, Colorado; three grandchildren, Katie Vassar, Cassandra Woodman, and Lonnie Guillory; and five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Brandon, Cameron, and Mikey. She is preceded in death by a son, Herbert Joseph Guillory, Jr; a grandson, Justin Vassar; and a great-grandson, Jayston Sullivan.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m on Saturday, December 8, 2012, in the Kingdom hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vinton.
