

He was a native of Dallas, Texas and after his retirement in 1984, he and his wife, Elnoria moved to Hackberry. They moved to Bundicks Lake 20 years ago. Gleason was a member of the Teamsters Union in Dallas. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and inventing. Gleason had invented a sheetrock lift, powered by air compressor and also a device, called The Rover, which he used to help him build the dock on the lake at his home.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Elnoria West of DeRidder; his three daughters, Cheryl Bornholdt and husband, AJ of Sulphur, Karen Waldrop and husband, George of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Lanell Thompson and husband, Homer of Temple, Texas; two sisters, Talitha Stone of Dallas, Texas and Naomi Daniels of Kaufman, Texas; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Nita Vincent will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
