He was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, a graduate of Sulphur High School and proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his years in the service, Harry worked at Firestone for 42 years from which he retired as an Operations Foreman. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church and known for his homemade donuts enjoyed by all after the First Friday Masses. Harry will be remembered for his great sense of humor, deep dimpled smile, exquisite woodworking craftsman skills and being a devoted LSU fan and supporter. Geaux Tigers! He shared a great love with his family and they will forever cherish his memory.
Preceding Harry in death was his wife of 58 years, Mary A. Trahan.
He was a loving dad to his four children, Matt Trahan and wife, Kathy; Sherri Andrepont and husband, Joe; Scott Trahan and companion, Nataly Barrios Garcia; and Pat Trahan and companion, Beth Arcemont, all of Sulphur; and was an adoring “Papa” to his five grandchildren, Phillip Andrepont, Ashley Gothreaux, Leigh Ann Hardy, Jennifer Berry, Carlie Trahan, and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Ruby Lyons of Sulphur.
Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2018 beginning at 9:00 in the Immaculate Conception Church Hall with the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following in the church at 11:00. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Richardson Cemetary of Jena, La. under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church in Sulphur.
