Hazel had many loves in her life. As a child she gave her life to her first love, Jesus Christ and was baptized in the creek behind her grandparents’ home. She recently had recommitted her life to Him. Hazel was predeceased by her loving husband of 20 years, Charles “Chuck” Watkins and her first husband, Harvey Null. She was also preceded by her beloved son Gary Null and her brother, Joe Lee Bennett.
Hazel is survived by her son Randal Null and his wife Judi; sisters Doris (August) McWilliams, Sharon (Vernon) Stilley, Nancy (Larry) Hampton, and brother Donald (Charlene) Bennett. Hazel delighted in her grandchildren and her eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her dear love and friend Ken Dulany and his family.
A consummate business woman, Hazel returned to school and received her business degree and went to work as a bookkeeper for The Broussard Group. She built a home for her two sons and made many, many friends in the Lake Charles and Sulphur areas, and eventually in Ruston, Louisiana. She will be remembered in the hearts of many for her love of family, friends, coffee, work, country music, pecan pie, and making her amazing banana pudding.
