Homer Alexander Cooper

He was born in Hillsboro, Texas and had been a longtime resident of Baytown, Texas before moving to the area in 2001. Homer worked for many years at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his step-children, Mitchell LaFleur and wife, Gayla of Sulphur, and Stephen LaFleur of Ragley; his siblings, Thomas Calhoun and wife, Chris of Kemah, Texas, Wesley Cooper of Dallas, Texas, Theresa Cooper of Baytown, Texas, and Sandra Grigsby and husband, Terry of Dayton, Texas; six grandchildren, Tasha (Randy) Berzas, Misty (Brandon) Young, Megan (Eric) Jones, Trey (Emily) Burnworth, Jacob (Tiffany) LaFleur, and Sandra LaFleur; seventeen great-grandchildren, Trenton Terro, Cheyanne Terro, Mikayla Terro, Dominick Young, Gabriel Young, Carlee Mancil, Chase Mancil, Dawson Jones, Aidan Jones, Jacklyn Burnworth, Peyton Burnworth, Gayla Burnworth, Vince Burnworth, Sophia LaFleur, Patton LaFleur, Walker LaFleur, and Lane LaFleur; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his spouses, Patricia "Patsy" Cooper and Jacquelyn Cooper; and his parents, Homer and Doris Cooper.

A Celebration of Homer's Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 13, at his family's home located at 715 West Street in Vinton. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
