Ida Rose Hayes

She was a native of Kaplan and had been a resident of Sulphur the last 56 years. Ida was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, painting, coloring, and traveling.

Survivors include her children, Vanessa Conrad and husband, Joe of Sulphur, and Neil Hayes and wife, Christina of Youngsville, and Troy Hayes of Sulphur; her sister, Helen C. Saltzman of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Natalie Conrad, Krystal Daigle, Jessica Deville, Eric Scheuchl, Jason Hayes, Jerad Hayes, Oran Hayes, and Laura Hayes Comeaux; eight great-grandchildren; Jaydean Deville, Jonathon Deville, Tahnee Scheuchl, Summer Scheuchl, Gabe Daigle, Amelia Conrad, Evan Hayes, and Barrett Hayes; and two great-great-grandchildren; Jerake Deville and Jerrick Carrier. She is preceded in death by her husband, Merton Hayes; five siblings, Dennis Broussard, Wilfred Constantine, Agnes C. Dupont, Wilsie Constantine, and Ula C. Ogle; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Elise Hayes and Zachary Joseph Hayes.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul T. White will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss.
