Iuna Louise Gabriel

Iuna Louise Gabriel, 93, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Beo and Marie Duhon on February 10, 1933 in Maurice, Louisiana. Together with her husband, they operated G.L.'s Clothing Store in Sulphur. Iuna was an avid golfer and truly loved the game. She loved playing various games with her family and was very competitive. Iuna was quite the cook, especially cooking Lebanese cuisines.

She is survived by her sister, Lena Broussard of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Iuna is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Gabriel; her parents; three siblings, Steven Joseph Duhon, Germaine LeDoux, and Maudry Conner; one niece, Jennifer Draper; along with great-great nephew, Knox Draper.

A Celebration of Iuna's life will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Paul White officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Monday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and/or Heart of Hospice.
