

Jake was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, La. where he spent many of his childhood years on the soccer field. Jake attended Maplewood School and was a Sulphur High School graduate in 2010. Jake had an exceptional musical talent. He was drum line captain for the Sulphur High School Marching Band and regarded as “one of the best percussionists ever to step foot on Sulphur High School grounds.” Jake was also a select member of the Louisiana All-State Orchestra and Honor Band.After high school, Jake continued to follow his passion for music as a member of the McNeese State University Drum-line. He studied Criminal Justice and was slated to graduate in 2015. Jake is described as “amazing”, “always concerned for others” and “a friend to everyone”. He was a loving son, brother, cousin, nephew and uncle. He loved his family and will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Doris “Nita” Henderson, and aunt, Rhonda Allison both of Sulphur, and maternal grandparents, Tut and J.D. Lyles of Ragley.
Jake is survived by his parents Kim and Beth Henderson; sisters, Jamie Henderson and Leslie Sandifer; and husband Nathan, and nephew Gabe Sandifer, all of Sulphur.
His funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, September 18 in First Christian- Disciples of Christ Church. The Rev. Bobbie Yellott will officiate. Visitation will be held 5 – 9 pm Wednesday in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home and on Thursday, 9 – 11 am in the Church.
