

Jacqueline "Jackie" Harmon Adams, age 78, passed into Heaven on November 10, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was born on January 24, 1939 to W. D. and Frances Alford Harmon in Tylertown, Mississippi. Later her family, including sisters, Florence Jeanette "Jill" and Sandra Dee, moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At a birthday party in December 1958, she met the love of her life, Olin Clyde "Buddy" Adams, Jr., and they married three months later on March 7, 1959. After two years, their family began to grow as four daughters were born within six years.
Jackie supported Buddy and his work as the family moved to Oregon, Alabama, Texas, Louisiana and back to Oregon before their retirement to Sulphur in 2003. They were each other's best friend and he took loving care of her as he coaxed her to eat, drink and be at peace during her final days.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jill.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, her sister, Dee (Richard) Drost; brother-in-law, Jim (Karen) Adams; brother-in-law, H.C. "Bud" Garrison; daughter, Trish (Ben) Roussel; daughter, Della (Gary) Timmermann; daughter, Noelle (Steve) McGarvey; daughter, Alana Melkild who provided support and care for Jackie these last tough months. Jackie had twelve grandchildren, Allisa (Dennis), Ashley (Brady), Anthony, Stevie(Autumn), Danielle (Scott), Matt, Jessica (RC), Tayler, Ray, Grace (Joe), Kyle, Jordan, and granddog, Abby; eleven great-grandchildren, many great-granddogs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Rev. Paul Estes will officiate. Family will receive friends from noon until time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
