James "Bill" William Barron, 74, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was born to his late parents, Chester and Edna Barron on October 18, 1948 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and playing Monday night Poker games. Bill loved tying flies, fly fishing and was great at making wine. He was proud of his service in the United States Navy aboard the heavy cruiser, the USS Newport News. Bill was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Susan Barron; daughter, Tina Baus (Jerry) of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Tylor Baus (April), Layna Baus, and Parker Baus; and one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Baus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 10:00 am, with Father Timothy Goodly officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 8:00 am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
