Mr. Benoit has resided in Sulphur for 60 years and retired from Citgo after 30 years of service. He enjoyed Cajun music. In his younger days, he played and sang in a band in local establishments.
Survivors include his daughter, Jacqueline Gail Benoit Roussell of Iowa; sons, James R. Benoit, Jr. of Carlyss and Curtis Lee Benoit of Lake Charles; sister, Brenda Benoit; brothers, Ruston, David, and Jerry Benoit; eight grandchildren; and nine grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Alcee and Gladys Benoit; brothers, Curtis, Russell and Calvin Benoit.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 with a celebration of Mr. Benoit’s life at 2 p.m. in Hixson – Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
