He was a native of Ohio, and had been a longtime resident of Sulphur. James enjoyed spending time with family, boating, riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, and just having fun overall.
Survivors include his parents, Sunset and Carolyn Carey of Sulphur; his children, Jimmy Carey of Sulphur, Ashley, Andrew, and Joshua Carey, all of Ohio; siblings, Sonny, Chris, and B.J. Carey of Sulphur, Adam Carey of New Orleans, and Melanie Sylvester of Brandon, Mississippi.
