Janie was a native of Lafayette, and had been a resident of Sulphur, for the last 6 years, coming from Rayne. She was a member of Houston River Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Survivors include her children, Tina Babineaux of Fouchon and Rena Long of Sulphur; her siblings, Joseph R. Guidry and Geneva Provost of Sulphur, and Glenda Doucette of Palastine, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Troy Dalfrey, Sherry Ellison and Charlotte Dalfrey.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, 3-9 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday, in the funeral home.
