Jesse Eli Hughes

He was a native of LaCamp, Louisiana and has resided in Sulphur for the last 27 years. Jesse was an Air Force Veteran. He retired from Gulf Machine Shop where he was employed as a welder for many years. Jesse enjoyed drinking coffee, watching football and FOX News.

He is survived by his sons, Gary Hughes and wife Regina, and Jesse Hughes, all of Sulphur; his daughter, Sherry Hughes of Sulphur; and stepchildren, Bob Sasser and wife Kim, David Sasser and wife Amanda, Sandry Brister and husband Gervis, Paul Sasser and wife Molly, and Steven Sasser and wife Ethel; brothers, Riley Hughes and Robert “Fuzzy” Hughes; thirty grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Janie Hughes; son, Danny Hughes; grandson, Laiton Hughes; parents, John E. and Vergie Hughes; brother, Leo Hughes; and sister, Maxine Beasley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m on Friday, November 1 in Hixson - Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 9 p.m on Thursday and resume Friday at 9 a.m. until time of service
