John worked for many years as a mechanic and was a Navy veteran of eight years.
Survivors include his brother, Charles Wright and wife Effie; a sister, Maurina LeJeune and husband Numa Ray, all of Hackberry; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Inez Wright; brother, James Wright; and a sister, Betty Rae DesOrmeaux.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel. Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
