

Johnnie "Faye" Fayerene Hudson, 88, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. She was born to her late parents, George Ramie and Ruby Brown on August 7, 1937 in Benson, Louisiana. She worked as a teacher with Calcasieu Parish Schools for a total of 20 years. Faye enjoyed sewing children's books, and watching her children play sports when they were growing up. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Most of all, Faye loved being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Maplewood First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 72 years, James Hudson; four children, Reginald "Reggie" Hudson (Sherrie) of Sandia Park, New Mexico, Randal Keith Hudson (Cheryl) of Sulphur, Edward "Ed" Hudson (Tina) of Sulphur, and Rose Lynne Kickel (David) of Sulphur; one brother, W.C. "Dub" Ramie of Mansfield, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; along with nineteen great grandchildren.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donnie Brown and Jessie Arthur Ramie; along with one sister, Elois LaVigne.
A Celebration of Faye's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 11:00 am, with Bro. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
