Joye was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, and a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Sulphur. Joye was a selfless, giving person who took care of everyone. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
Joye was preceded in death by her father, Waldo J. Blanchette, a sister, Waldia Gayle Blanchette.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her mother, Neldia Blanchette; a son, David Frith and partner, Carla; grandson, Bryce Bujol; sister, Marlene Ivey; brother, Gary Blanchette; brother, Ronnie Blanchette, sister, Paula Lundy and husband, Mike; aunts, Annie Boudreaux, Liz Boudreaux, and Juanita Breaux; nephews and nieces, Damon Ivey, Ashley Ivey Atkins and husband, Chris, Kacie Fountain and husband, Jake, Shelby Guilbeaux and husband, Kevin, Sydnie Lundy, and Ryan Blanchette; and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Rev Edward Richard, MS will officiate under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Family will receive visitors in church hall immediately following service.
Joye's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest beside her sister in Mimosa Pines, Carlyss.
