Judith Kay Burton

Judith Kay Landry Burton, known to most as Judie Kaye, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026. Judie was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, born on April 19, 1940. She graduated Sulphur High School in 1958 and then attended McNeese State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. Judie Kaye was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and playing mexican train dominoes with friends. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Judith is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, James K. Burton; her parents, Lucille and Boyd Landry; two brothers, Toby and Bill Landry; sons-in-law, Carey Elder and Jim Andrew; and grandson, Kaplan Andrew.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janna Elder and Joanie Andrew; grandchildren: Kaye Kirby and husband Will, Andrea Elder, and Cameron Andrew; along with great-grandchildren, Beau and Caroline Kirby.

A graveside service will be held at 9am on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery (958 Belle Moye Rd. Carlyss, LA 70665). Hixson celebrant Jody Tyler Espinosa will officiate.
