Larry Gene Rogers, 83, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025. He was born to his late parents, Gene and Wanda "Aunt Billie" Rogers on June 10, 1942 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Larry was a proud graduate of McNeese State University Class of 1966. He was employed for many years with Montel, now LyondellBasell before retiring. In his later years, he worked for Tuesday Morning where he would spend 17 years. He enjoyed collecting antiques and vintage cars, and his Shelties: MacTavish, Mac Reddy, and MacGregor, that meant the world to him.
He is survived by his cousins, Sammy L. Cathey (David L. Cathey) of Fairfield, Texas, Shirley Peper (Dwight) of Crowley, Texas, Wanda James of Seminole, Oklahoma, Paul Kennedy of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Mary Kay Westphal (David) of Seminole, Oklahoma; niece, Tyler Milburn; nephew, Teal Milburn; along with his sister-in-laws, Connie Milburn of Sulphur, Louisiana and Judy Johnson of Mobile, Alabama.
Larry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen "Ruby" Rogers; along with his parents.
A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 1:00 pm, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
