

Mary was one of 12 children born to Gilbert and Rosella Meche of Sunset, La. She has resided in Sulphur for the past 62 years and was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. Mary retired from West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital after 20-plus years of service. She was an awesome cook, enjoyed gardening and talking on the phone. She will be remembered for her love of family and Cajun dancing.
She is survived by her husband of five years, Clint Hebert; six children, C.J. Goodrich and wife Opal of Carlyss, Charlotte Greenhill of Houston, Gilbert Ray Goodrich and wife Cynthia of Denham Springs, Brenda Goodrich of Sulphur and boyfriend Bill Mercer, Shelia Gintz and husband Alfred of Sulphur, and Michael Goodrich and wife Kristal of Sulphur; siblings, Dudley Meche, Kermit Meche, Charles Meche, Fred Meche, Margaret LeBlanc and Nell Leblanc; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Goodrich; siblings, Zulma Motte, Elric Meche, Thelma Grossie, Anna Joyce Carrier and Ezra Potier.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Deacon Johnny Mounce will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South of Carlyss. Visitation will be held Saturday, 2—8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and resume at noon Sunday until time of service.
