

She grew up in North Canton, Ohio and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 70 years. She graduated from Akron School of Nursing and then received her Bachelor of Science degree from McNeese State University. She sold real estate for several years in the Sulphur-Lake Charles area. Betty was the last surviving charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was a very artistic person and enjoyed painting.
Survivors include her three children, Karen Hackett of Sweetlake, Kay Rintala of Plano, Texas, and Ed Greenwood of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Jim" Greenwood.
Her memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sulphur. Pastors Erich and Leslie Mansell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service.
