Mary Virgie Hebert

Mary Virgie Hebert, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 surrounded by her three daughters as they prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Virgie was born on July 12, 1924 in Gueydan, Louisiana.

Virgie was a wonderful homemaker and a momma bear who loved her nine children dearly. Virgie was a longtime member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where she was a member of the Catholic Daughter of the Americas, Altar Society, and Serra Club.

Virgie was preceded in death by her husband, Alcide Hebert, Sr., children, Betty Faulk, James Hebert, Raymond Hebert, Ronald Hebert, Donnie Briscoe, and an infant baby, her parents, Nicholas and Paula Herpin.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Helen Simon (Felix), Ellen Abel, and Connie Dronette (David); and 149 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Fellowship Hall with a Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Fellowship Hall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on+ Friday, October 23, 2020 at Our Lady of Prompt Catholic Church in Sulphur. Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Burial will follow in Gueydan Cemetery in Gueydan, Louisiana.
