Mary Jane Meche

SULPHUR — Mary Jane Meche, 78, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, in her residence.She was a native of Rayne and had been a longtime resident of Lake Charles before moving to Sulphur in 1991. Mary enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.Survivors include her children, Patricia Naquin and husband Dale, Tina LeJeune and husband Sidney, Joey Meche, Pam Gentry and husband Ben, and Rhodnoda Meche, all of Sulphur; daughter-in-law, Sandra Meche of Bridge City, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.She is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Meche; her parents, Alton and Doris Cormier; a son, Tony Meche; her siblings, Harold Cormier and Lydia LaPoint; grandson, James T. Naquin; and great-granddaughter, Shailee Ramerez.Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Aquino, MS will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
