Sulphur – Mrs. Mary Annabel (Aucoin) Schexnailder, 94, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at Stonebridge Assisted Living Facility surrounded by her family. On her husband’s side, she is the last surviving person for a large Schexnailder family from the Norco Area. She was the oldest child of the Aucoin family from New Orleans, La.
She was a pioneer family member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Sulphur. She was an active member of the church, the Catholic Daughters and the Alter Society. She was born in New Orleans, La on August 7, 1924 to Andrew and Lucy Aucoin. Andrew H. Aucoin was from Platteville, LA and Lucy Delaune was from Napoleonville, LA.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Don and Reba Schexnailder, Mark and Dee Schexnailder, Lynn and Tim Leger, Jill and Ted Queen, and Sandy Schexnailder and Kathy Daigle. Her grandchildren include Deb Wright, Wade and Michelle Wright, Kate Leger, Ryan and Fran Davis, Shawn and Kathy Davis, Eric and Erin Leger, Amie Young, John and Ann Marie Queen, Carly and Chet Benner, Tad and Victoria Schexnailder and Tyler Schexnailder. Mrs. Schexnailder has 17 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, LA. The Rev. Goodly will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is 9:00 to 10:00 am on Friday, October 19 in the church hall.
The pallbearers are Sean Davis, Ryan Davis, Eric Leger, Tad Schexnailder, Tyler Schexnailder, John Queen, Chet Brenner and Wade Wright

Her final years were spent at Stonebridge Assisted Living where she enjoyed excellent and loving care. The family thanks them very much for their care.
