She was raised in Choupique and moved to town in 6th grade. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School in 1956 and married Joseph A. H. Gregoire the same year. Maxine worked at Muller’s Dept. Store as a sales clerk. Once married, she lovingly devoted her time to her family as a homemaker. Maxine was a Catholic Daughter at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Sulphur. She then became a member of the Red Hat Society after moving to Humble, TX, in which she served as Red Hat Queen for a one year term.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Gregoire and wife, Angelique of Katy, TX and Kevin Gregoire and wife, Missy of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Jessica Muesse and husband, Brandon of San Marcos, TX, Ashley Gregoire of Katy, TX and Lauren Gregoire of Baton Rouge, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, of 43 years; parents, Leo and Bernice Landry; brother, Harold Landry; sister, Ethel Rutledge; grandchild, Andrew Gregoire.
Her funeral will be 10:30am, Saturday, April 16th at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Rev. Edward Richard M. S. will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday, 5pm-8pm with a rosary at 6pm and resume Saturday 9:30am until service time. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery.
