Melissa Faye Moss, 61, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in her daughter's residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur where she was a 1977 graduate of Sulphur High School and attended McNeese State University. She was a member of the Apartment Owners Association, a 28 year member of the Optimist Club, and was a graduate of the Lake Charles Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Melissa enjoyed cooking, volunteer work, and above all spending time with her grandkids.

Survivors include her children, Candyce Moss Brignac and husband, Eric of Humble, Texas, Shelby Moss of Sulphur, and Kory Moss and wife, Carrie of Sulphur; her brothers, Stuart Moss and Brendan Moss, both of Sulphur; and her grandchildren, Baylor, Kylor, and Audra Brignac. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Sondra Moss.

A Celebration of Melissa's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 8 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
