Myrtle also known as "Nana" to most who knew her. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Myrtle also worked at R.W. Vincent Elementary School for many years as a lunch lady. Myrtle also enjoyed reading, gardening, but especially spending time with family and she was an awesome cook!
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Louis Ryder, her parents, William and Beulah Perkins, and a sister, Billie Ormsby.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Lynda Eddy of Baytown, Texas, Carolyn Ryder of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Gloria Endsley of Huntersville, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. A Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday led by Priscilla Fuselier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur. Rev. Bino Francis, M.S. will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations may be made to Veteran of Foreign Wars, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, or an organization of your choice.
