Ola worked as a clerk for K&B Drug Store for many years and as a Bridge Tender for the Kelso Bayou Bridge and the Ellender Bridge for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry until they relocated after hurricane Rita and then she attended St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley.
Ola was preceded in death her parents, Clarence and Orelia Clement.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Patrick Mire; daughter, Anita Serrin (Kent) of Carlyss; daughter, Melissa Lawrence (Michael) of Lacassine; a granddaughter, Kayla Lawrence; foster granddaughter, Brie; adopted great-grandson, Jaxson; and adopted great-granddaughters, Eloise and Isla.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 until 8:00 p.m. in the Hall at St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. Arvind Minz officiating. Burial will follow in Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
