She was a native of Sulphur and had also lived in Lafayette for several years before returning to Sulphur over 30 years. Patricia, also known as "Pat" or "Tricia" worked as a hairdresser for many years and was the former owner and operator of Petroleum Club in Sulphur. She was a longtime caregiver for her mother, her husband, and had also raised her granddaughter, Kaleigh. If you knew Tricia, you will know she had a very strong-willed personality and wasn't afraid to tell you what was on her mind. Although she may have had tough exterior, beneath that was a heart of gold.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Fontenot of Sulphur; her sister, Pamela Hollier and husband, Eric of Scott; her grandchildren, Mark Blaine Fontenot of Sulphur, Ben Kickel of Ragley, Emily Mahfouz of Baton Rouge, Adam Mahfouz of Marksville, and Madelyn Mahfouz of Marksville; and her great-grandchildren, Kami Fontenot, Blayze and Ayden Rechy, and Kasen, Kollin, and Kohen Kickel. She is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Woods; her daughters, Vicki Dugas and Amy Fontenot; her parents, Julius and Lottie Johnson; her beloved granddaughter, Kaleigh Fontenot; and her brother, Rowland Johnson.
A Celebration of Patricia's Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
