Patrick was born in Evanston, Illinois. He spent many years in Maryland before settling in Southwest Louisiana, which he proudly called home for the past 25 years.
Patrick was an excellent writer and natural storyteller. He had a deep love for philosophy, traveling, and camping with his family. His sharp wit, remarkable memory, eye for detail, and kind heart made him the best of company—someone who could turn any moment into a meaningful one. A creature of habit, he faithfully listened to Walton and Johnson each morning and after a long day of work he played Words with Friends to keep his mind sharp. Patrick lived a life overflowing with love and never missed an opportunity to let his family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, clients, and even his pets know how much they meant to him.
For 25 years, Patrick owned and operated his business, Beyond The Pail Painting, where his craftsmanship, dedication, and strong work ethic earned the utmost respect and trust of his clients and community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Carrie Elizabeth Boyd Murphy; his children, Brendan Mitchell Murphy, Cullen Terence Murphy, and Maurina Lorraine Murphy, all of Hackberry, Louisiana; his siblings, Catherine Murphy of Gaithersburg, Maryland; Mary Deirdre Murphy Juenemann and husband Russ of Silver Spring, Maryland; Brendan Murphy and wife Dana of Cumming, Georgia; Siobhan Murphy McCurry and husband David of Silver Spring, Maryland; Treasa Murphy and husband Pedro Saenz of Kensington, Maryland; and Honoria Murphy Greene and husband Brandon of Lake Charles.
He is also survived by his father-in-law Jack Boyd of Sulphur; mother-in-law Travis Perkins of Hackberry; brothers-in-law Mitchell Boyd and Lester Wright IV; and a large and loving circle of nieces and nephews: Sean (Gemma) Bishop, Kenneth Bishop II, Mary Reinwall (Jelanie Winter), Terence Murphy, Connor Murphy, Vincent McCurry, Matthew McCurry, Cameron Hebert, Taylor Hebert, Claudia Boyd, Memphis Boyd, Mary Katherine Boyd, Kash Napaul-Bishop, Seana Napaul-Bishop, Ayana Reinwall, Kyla Winter, Isabelle Winter, Lauren Winter, Justin Winter, and Nicole Winter.
