

Paul was a native of Belgrade, Missouri and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1960, moving from East Carondelet, Illinois. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Barge Transport Company after nearly 30 years of service. Upon his retirement, he started volunteering for Care Help of Sulphur where he served for 21 years. He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Paul recently served as the Grand Marshall for the Sulphur Centennial Celebration Parade because he was the "Oldest Man In Town".
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Peak of Sulphur; his children, Larry Peak of Houston, Texas and Alice June Collins of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Nathan Collins, Wendy Brooks, Paul Peak II, and Jennifer O'Brian and husband, Jason; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Kay O'Brian. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cheryl Peak; and son-in-law, Stephen Collins.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 12, in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Pastors Erich and Leslie Mansell will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and from noon until the time of service Monday in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church General Fund or The American Cancer Society.
