Peggy Lois Prather

Peggy Lois Prather, 83, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Eddie and Lois Duff on December 9, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas. She enjoyed needle point, fishing, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, John Prather; son, Gary Wayne Delafosse (Laura) of Wildwood, Florida; sister, Patricia Droddy (Lloyd) of Iowa, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Jason Delafosse, Amanda Clem (John), Angelle Petry (Damian), Leanne Delafosse, and John Delafosse; along with great grandchildren, Bailey, Macey, and MaKenzy Delafosse; Luke and Ember Lovern; Carson, Collin, and Kensley Petry; Dre Belaire; along with three great-great grandchildren, Kaiser, Isla, and Axel.

Peggy is preceded in death by her former husband, Joseph Vernon Delafosse; son, Vernon Ray Delafosse; her parents; one sister, Barbara Lewis; along with her granddaughter, Alicia Delafosse.

A Celebration of Peggy's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 12:00 pm, with Deacon Patrick LaPoint, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the service.
