He was a 1970 graduate of Sulphur High School and then went on to McNeese State University to study business. Philip was a lifelong resident and business owner in Sulphur of the I-10 Mobile Station in the 1970's and then owned and operated Cloverleaf Barber and Beauty Supply. He was a drummer throughout his life, playing originally with The Shanes, Sam Breaux And Creole Cooking, then with Creole Cooking.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Darbonne Hale of Carlyss; his sons, Jason Hale of Sulphur, and Eric Darbonne Hale (Casey) of Princeton, Texas; his three grandchildren, Nickolas, Ellasyn, and Burklee Hale; his brother, Michael Ray Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Hale, Jr. and Juanita Adams; his brothers, Dennis Hale, Sr. and Robert Hale; and a nephew, Christopher Hale.
A Celebration of Philip's Life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 3 pm at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
