Quinda was born on September 30, 1931 in Anacoco, Louisiana to Thomas Rainey and Lula (McInnis) Evans. In 1960 she and her family moved to Moss Bluff, Louisiana where she resided until 2012 when she moved to Vinton, Louisiana to be closer to her children.
Quinda was employed by Calcasieu Parish School Board for 21 years where she was honored with the Outstanding School Support Employee of the Year award in 1994. Quinda was an avid gardener and loved spending time at the family's camp on Lake Vernon.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years William Reid Voyght; her son William Raymond Voyght; her brothers Leon Evans, Gillis Smith, Garvis Evans, and Cecil Evans; her sisters Juanita Smith Rivers and Lavon Evans and life long friend Beverly Materne.
She is survived by her daughters Sandra (John "Bubbie") Henderson of Vinton, LA and Jaqueitha Bertrand also of Vinton, and her son Adrian (Katie) Voyght of Iowa, LA; Grandchildren, Cade (Tammie) Henderson of Vinton, LA; Savanna (Dillon) Dupeire of Donaldsonville, LA and Rustin Bertrand of Vinton, LA. Great-Grandchildren Cole, Caleb, and Christian Henderson all of Vinton. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday, December 3rd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel, and from 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 followed by funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Leo Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery, 178 South Perkins Ferry Road, Moss Bluff, Louisiana 70611.
The family would like to thank the Emergency Room staff, doctors, ICU, and especially the 2nd floor nurses and aides of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital for the compassionate care shown to our mother and our family during her illness.
