He was a native of Elton and a graduate of Elton High School, where he played football. Afterward, he made his home in Westlake, where he lived for nearly 50 years before moving to Brookdale Assisted Living in Lake Charles about three years ago. There, he enjoyed spending time with fellow residents and playing Bingo.
Randy was a proud veteran of both the U.S. Navy and the Army National Guard. He also served the community as a reserve officer with the Westlake Police Department and also with the Jennings Police Department. Among his many acts of kindness and service, Randy once saved a man's life by performing CPR after an electrocution incident.
Randy loved life's simple pleasures—a cold beer, a trip to the casino, and sharing meals with family and friends. Some of his favorite places to dine were Pat's of Henderson and Texas Roadhouse. He never met a stranger and was always willing to give the shirt off his back for someone in need. His warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his children, Brandi Guillory Casteel and husband, Doug of Carlyss, and Brandon Troy Guillory of Orange, Texas; his brothers, Kenneth Wayne Guillory and wife, Barbara, and Reggie Guillory and wife, Patricia of Lake Charles; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse "Kotch" Guillory and Madeline Buller Guillory.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 26 with a rosary service at 5:30 p.m. and committal service will be held in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings at a later date.
