She was a native of Virginia and had been a resident of Sulphur for nearly 60 years. Reba married Sidnie Frank Bishop on February 26, 1939 in Rogersville, Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She loved to go out into her garden to see what was ready so she could enjoy and share with the neighbors.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Sidnie Frank Bishop; three sons, Franklin Bishop and wife, Judy of Houma, Ronnie Eugene Bishop and wife, Ronda and Jeffery Lynn Bishop, all of Sulphur; two brothers, James Durham and wife, Wilma of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Jack Taylor and wife, Dorothy of Clinchport, Virginia; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, John Durham, Joe Taylor, and Ray Durham; and a sister, Myrtle McDavid.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Devillier and the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital 2nd floor nurses for their excellent care of Reba.
