He was a native and lifelong resident of the Sulphur-Carlyss area and had been the owner and operator of Men and Women Country Salon in Carlyss for many years. Rex was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his friends and playing bingo.
Survivors include his brother, Alan Rogers of Carlyss; his nephew, Alan Brandon Rogers of West Virginia; and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Geraldine Rogers.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
