Robert Kennedy "Bobby" Rice Jr.

He was a native of Houston, Texas and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last ten years, moving from Holly Beach. Bobby had an excellent sense of humor and was known to be fluent in sarcasm. He loved watching wrestling, especially WWE matches, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Sulphur-Carlyss Information Station of which he thoroughly enjoyed starting "discussions" on various topics.

Survivors include his wife, Mary "Chrissie" Rice of Sulphur; his children, Robert K. Rice of Houston, Texas, Billy Schautz and wife, Ami of Jacksonville, Florida, Tommy Rice of Texas, David Rice of Alex, Oklahoma, Brandy Hudson of Vinton, Brandon Book and wife, Mandi of Westlake, Kimberly Book of Westlake, Jennifer Bennett and husband, Paul of Sulphur, Kristen Cooley and husband, Jared of Sulphur, April Rice of Church Point, and Terrance Rice and wife, Ashley of Sulphur; his father, Robert Kennedy Rice Sr. and wife, Barbara of Boyce; two nephews, Jordan Ardoin and Tyler Venable; his cousin, Viki LeBrun and her husband, Kenneth Paul, and their children, Nicole and Jean Paul LeBrun; his brothers, Michael Rice and wife, Loretta of Bossier City, Larry Branson and wife, Glenda of Boyce, and Darrell Wayne Branson of Goldwaithe, Texas; his sisters, Gayle Murrell and husband, Lance of Pineville, Kathy Freeman of Goldwaithe, Texas, Brenda Hinton and husband, Bennie of Mora, Cheryl Hines of Charlotte, North Carolina; twenty-seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eighteen nieces and nephews; eighteen great-nieces & great-nephews; and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Virginia and Rudy Ardoin; and his brother, Bryan Ardoin.

A Celebration of Bobby's Life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, October 10, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant.
