Rogenia Kay Suydam, 74, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was born to her late parents, Curtis and Lillian Richard on September 30, 1949 in Biloxi, MS. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School. In her career, Rogenia worked for the D.A.'s office, and was training to become a Sheriff's Deputy. She also worked for Southwest Daily News and for Sulphur Walmart. Rogenia took great joy in taking her son fishing when he was young. She was a huge fan of the LSU Tigers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and enjoyed going to Florida and the beach.
She is survived by her son, Lionel Peschier (Tracy) of Sulphur, Louisiana; siblings, Malcolm "Paul" Richard (Vicky) of Sulphur, Louisiana, Denise Richard of Sulphur, Louisiana, Debbie Richard of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Kerry Richard of Baltimore, Maryland; granddaughter, Emma Peschier; great grandson, Zayde that she was looking forward to meeting in February; Godchildren, Trisha Guidry, Jada Abshire, and Aaron McAllen; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Rogenia is preceded in death by her parents; her spouses, Len Peschier, Jack Suydam, and Miles Busby; her beloved fur baby, Coby.
A Celebration of Rogenia's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:30 am, with Father Sibi Kunninu officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
She was a loving, loyal, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
