She was a native and lifelong resident of the Moss Lake/Carlyss area and was a graduate of Sulphur High School. Rosemary also graduated from Louisiana College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught for many years at Frasch Elementary and E.K. Key Elementary Schools before her retirement. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and also First Baptist Church of Sulphur. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, quilting, making dresses, sewing, canning fruits and vegetables, making candy (especially divinity fudge), and spending time with her family playing cards and working puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Victor Rozas and wife, Susan of Henderson, Nevada, Patricia Elkins and husband, Donnie of Carlyss, Roxane Foux of Sulphur, and Timothy Rozas of Sulphur; her step-daughters, Karen Miller and husband, Johnny of Lake Charles, and Angela Holloway of Sulphur; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Malone Hebert; her son-in-law, Charles W. Foux; her siblings, Alan Drost, Behrend Drost, and Doris Petross; and step-children, Paul Hebert, James Hebert, and Fran Hebert.
Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 9, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Blocker will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service at 5 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Elkins, Danny Sanford, Michael Foux, Jason Foux, Brian Foux, and Stephen Foux.
