Sharon Lynne Hayes, 64, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. She was born to her late parents, Reuben and Vanda Graunke on March 23, 1962 in Bangor, Maine. She worked as a Park Ranger for Sam Houston Jones State Park for over 15 years. Sharon worked at Dry Creek Baptist Camp for many summers teaching Bible Study and Children's Music. She also taught Children's music at New Hope Baptist Church for several years. Sharon was a part of her family singing group, The Graunke Sisters and sang at various church functions and community events.
She is survived by her children, Sara Moore of Deweyville, Texas, Julie DeCapua of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Jeremy Hayes of Pineville, Louisiana; her siblings, Carolyn Herrmann of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jeanette King of Lumberton, Texas, Paula Smith of Jennings, Louisiana, and Joanne McFatter of Sulphur, Louisiana; along with numerous grandchildren.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hayes; along with her parents, Reuben and Vanda Graunke.
A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy, Louisiana on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Roland Hebert officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
