

He was a native of Virginia and had been a resident of Sulphur for nearly 60 years. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, mowing his yard, and working in his shop. He had an awesome memory and could recall events from his entire lifetime, back into his childhood, of which he would share these memories with others.
Survivors include his three sons, Franklin Bishop and wife, Judy of Houma, Ronnie Eugene Bishop and wife, Ronda of Sulphur, and Jeffery Lynn Bishop of Sulphur; his brother, Audley McCoy Bishop of Kingsport, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Esta Bishop; brothers, Joseph Earl Bishop, and Eugene Bishop; and sisters, Margaret Allen, Winifred Tuggele, Angela Wells, and June Durham.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
