Susan Gail Mier, 72, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. She was born to her late parents, Charlie and Una Mae Guidry on August 12, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Most of all, Susan loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 55 years, Theophile “Ted” Mier; three children, Amy Darbonne (Thomas) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Charles Mier (Ashley) of Sulphur, Louisiana; stepson, Ted Mier, IV of Welsh, Louisiana; three brothers and four sisters; along with sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Susan is preceded in death by her son, Shannon Todd Mier; her parents; granddaughter, Ashley Darbonne; along with her brother, Jerry Guidry, Sr.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 1:00 pm, with Deacon Patrick LaPoint, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 am, with a Rosary at 12:30 pm, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, Louisiana.
