She was a native and lifelong resident of Calcasieu Parish. Tanya graduated from DeQuincy High School and then received her Bachelor's Degree in Large Animal Science from McNeese State University. She was very athletic and had played several sports and rodeo in high school and college, winning several awards. She loved being outdoors, especially boating, hunting, fishing, and horticulture. Tanya was a member and had previously served as President of The Calcasieu Orchid Society.
Survivors include her siblings, David M Loop and wife Molly of Winnie, Texas, and Lindy Loop of Beaumont, Texas; her niece, Cayleigh Loop of Winnie, Texas; her nephews, Miles Loop and wife Molly of Friendswood, Texas, Ryan Adams and wife Roxanne of Anahuac, Texas; her ex-husband and friend, Chuck Stenbeck of Lake Charles; and her step-children, Jessica Stenbeck McAleer and husband John of Galveston, Texas and Charles "Bubba" Stenbeck and wife Abigail of Lake Charles; her grandchildren Nicholas Stenbeck and Katie McAleer of Galveston, Texas; Rosa Stenbeck and Carlos Stenbeck of Lake Charles, Louisiana; cousins, Mark Gaudio and wife Linda of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Pamela Baker of South Toledo Bend, Texas; her beloved Leaton family; and many many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Fluitt and Virginia Kathleen Leaton; Grandparents, Clyde C Fluitt and Pansy Jewell Ruth “JewJew.”
A Celebration of Tanya's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 16, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Rigmaiden Cemetery in DeQuincy.
